An opportunity to join the Y Auckland...

If you are a young wahine Māori or Ira tāngata Māori thinking about your first role after uni, or a part time role while you study - this might be the opportunity for you.

The Y Auckland has launched its Associate programme which will see two young people join the team for a fixed-term experience over two years (paid internship).

We’re a gender inclusive NGO built on feminist values and we want to be driven by young self-identifying women and non binary youth in what we focus on and what we do.

Let’s change history together.

Bring your passion to do meaningful work to life, with a unique opportunity not just to be at the table, but to take up leadership opportunities while learning lots and being supported by a pretty special and very experienced team.

We pride ourselves on creating a warm culture where you can truly belong, bringing you whole self to the team.

We are on a journey of unpacking our colonial past, learning together and trying to do better. We recognise that the responsibility is on all of us, particularly tauiwi, to make our space more equitable and to deliver with integrity. Our associate roles also recognise how integral lived experience is, not only in one off consultation – but as valued members of the team

At YWCA Auckland, we are are all about growth, stretching beyond what is comfortable and learning from each other. We believe that everyone brings unique life experience and, regardless of age, has something of value to share that we can learn from.

The Associate Programme

This is new initiative that will bring to life our commitment to centre young wāhine toa and non-binary youth.

You will be joining a smart passionate team and over two years you’ll rotate around three core areas of our work:

  1. Insights and Campaigns
  2. Shaping and delivering Y25
  3. Leadership: Working with the CEO
