Safety by Design.

Speak up.
Take action.

Online safety is real-world safety.

Online harm is a real safety issue, especially for young women and gender-diverse people. The Online Safety Bill is about making online platforms take more responsibility for keeping people safe, instead of leaving individuals to deal with harm on their own. YWCA Aotearoa New Zealand is speaking up for safer online spaces and asking young people and communities to support the Bill by adding their voices and contacting MPs. Keep reading to find out more.

Take Action

You can take action by signing the campaign petition urging Parliament to progress the Online Safety Bill. You can also submit a letter to your local MP using YWCA’s template, or authorise YWCA to submit it on your behalf. Finally, keep yourself informed as YWCA Aotearoa New Zealand undertakes advocacy to advance the Bill by following our progress online.

Use our templates to contact your MP

YWCA Aotearoa New Zealand has prepared letter templates to support advocacy for a safety-by-design approach to online harm. These templates can be used by individuals and organisations to contact Members of Parliament.
