Ignite Programme

A programme developed especially for young women by young women!
This programme is loads of fun! You develop some great relationships, and enhance some of the awesome skills you have! The following are some objectives we would hope to achieve throughout the programme:

• To equip young women with the skills to be an effective leader and provide opportunities for young women to implement them
• To enhance the self-esteem and confidence of young women in a safe environment
• To gain awareness and knowledge of issues affecting young women
• To promote a holistic approach to healthy living
• To promote creativity through self-expression

Some activities we will be doing throughout the programme, and to help achieve the above objectives are:

• Velodrome Track Cycling
• Radio Station Session
• Workshops on:
 Budgeting tips
 Goal setting
 Getting a job

This course is for young women aged 13-16 years. To be successfully enrolled in the holidays programme, forms must be returned to the YWCA of Hamilton by FRIDAY 29th June 2018. 

An important part of the programme is to have the support and approval of your family/whanau. Please show them this enrolment form and ask them to sign.

Healthy Cooking on a Budget

YWCA and the University of Waikato present HEALTHY COOKING ON A BUDGET!

It can be difficult cooking at the best of times, but when you have an assignment due, and peanuts in your bank account because you forgot how much rent costs (again) it can be almost impossible!

But we have a solution! Healthy cooking on a budget! YWCA has partnered with WILSS (Waikato Institute for Leisure and Sports Studies) to bring you a course that will give you handy tips on easy and quick cooking on a budget!

Its time to party!

This year YWCA is turning SEVENTY FIVE and we want you to celebrate with us!

Come and join us on Tuesday 15 May between 10.30am and 2pm for tours of our grounds, photos, birthday cake AND MORE! 

There will be prizes for best dress in their historical gear!

We will be hosting tours at 11am and 1pm, plus there will be a random draw for registered attendees!

IMPROVING YOUR WELLBEING & REDUCING STRESS - workshop for women

This year we are coming to the University of Waikato's halls of residence to run monthly workshops on topics relevant to YOU!

The first workshop is on Thursday 15th of March at 7.30-9.30pm at College Hall.

The topic of the workshop is Improving Your Well-being and Reducing Stress. Experts from PressGo will give you concrete tools to manage your wellbeing and reduce stress.
