Does the YWCA of Wellington and Hutt Valley provide accommodation?

Although other New Zealand YWCA associations provide hostel accommodation the YWCA of Wellington and Hutt Valley does not have accommodation available. Low-cost accomodation links in Wellington are provided on the right of this page.

Do you provide school holiday programmes?

School holiday programmes have been a popular service provided by the YWCA of Wellington and Hutt Valley. We do not offer these programmes anymore.

What does YWCA stand for?

YWCA stands for Young Women’s Christian Association. The YWCA is an international organisation working for the empowerment of women in 100 countries around the world.

Are you a church or Christian organisation?

We are not a church organisation. The YWCA of Wellington and Hutt Valley acknowledges our Christian heritage. Our core work is empowering women, especially young women, of any religion, ethnicity or background.

What is meant by ‘young’ when you say young women?

We do not have a strict age range for our services but focus our work and services on women aged 12-30 years old. You do not need to be within this age to be a member!
