YWCA BODYMOVES - Exercise programme for women:The Bodymoves ladies from Wanganui

  • Have fun and keep fit!
  • An exercise programme devised for the YWCA by a dancer, specifically for women, using light, bright music
  • Held 9.30 to 10.30am every Monday at the Amdram Hall, Guyton Street, Wanganui
  • Wear comfortable clothing and non-skid footwear

  • Cost:  Only $4 per session!!
  • BodyMoves is funded by SPARC - thank you SPARC!


GO GIRLS
holiday programme

For girls aged between 11 and 15 years, designed to build confidence and self esteem in safe and fun environment.  Each programme is kept to a minimum number to reduce the likelihood of bullying to ensure that your child enjoys their "home away from home in the holidays!"

This programme is funded by the JBS Dudding Trust and by Sport and Recreation New Zealand.

In keeping with our commitment to SPARC's investment objectives each programme includes some wonderful sporting activities. 

The third programme for 2008 is being run in the second week of the Sept/ Oct school holidays.  The programme is therefore commencing on Monday 6 October 2008.

YWCA Encore after breast cancer - gentle exercise programme

WANGANUI

The Wanganui YWCA Encore programme is running for another 8 week session from Thursday 28 August 2008.  This will be the last programme offered for 2008.

Enrolments are open so please contact one of our Coordinators: Raewyn Williams (ph 06 344 1469) or Julie Kelly (ph 06 343 1616).  Alternatively, please phone the YWCA Wanganui office for further information (06 347 9979).  The water exercises are followed by gentle floor exercises; and special guest speakers are also a feature of this wonderful programme.

The Wanganui YWCA is very grateful to COGS (Community Organisations Grants Scheme) and SPARC for their funding of the Wanganui YWCA Encore programme to date!

 

PALMERSTON NORTH

The Wanganui YWCA Encore programme in Palmerston North is running their last programme for 2008 in September.  For enrolments please contact the Coordinator, Sue Thompson at iansue.t@xtra.co.nz.

The Wanganui YWCA is also very grateful to the Manawatu Cancer Society for their funding to date! 

 

Please note:  Programme dates for 2009 will be published on our website as soon as funding has been obtained to allow us to continue offering this beneficial programme in 2009. 

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY, 8 MARCH

The Wanganui YWCA participated in an event on 8 March 2008 in Majestic Square, Wanganui to mark International Women's day - a day which is of importance to women worldwide.

The Women's Network organised a fun day to encourage the community to participate.  There were sausage sizzles, music, items, face painting and wonderful women showcasing their talents.
